Starts today! Sydenham WORD WEEK is 6 events over 8 days celebrating the written and spoken word, to mark World Book Day on Thu 7 March. Co-organised by Spontaneous Productions Theatre Company and Kirkdale Bookshop the event culminates with next Saturday's SOLD OUT Jonathan Coe play reading featuring Robert Bathurst and Annabelle Dowler.

Tonight (Fri 1 March) Kirkdale Bookshop hosts Sydenham author Claire Adam whose new novel Golden Child has recently been published by Faber and Faber to great critical acclaim. This event is FREE and starts at 7.30pm. (No need to book, just turn up!)

Then tomorrow (Sat 2 March) don't miss our prestigious poetry event :

Prestigious poetry evening BELL, ANTROBUS AND FRIENDS featuring poets Jo Bell (as seen in the Nationwide TV ads), Raymond Antrobus, Gale Burns and Connor Byrne - we'd love a big crowd for this so come along to Upstairs at the Sydenham Centre for 8pm, box office open from 7.30pm, or grab a drink first in the Ignition Brewery bar downstairs.
