A very civilised walk up Dartmouth Rd.
Start in The Hob/Capitol. Up Dartmouth Rd into The Dartmouth Arms. Along the road, and look into The Bird in Hand. If we feel like a bit of a fight then one in there.
Next The Bricklayers. Then, The Woodman.
Dartmouth Rd pub "crawl"
An inspired suggestion Lambchops. I would also suggest the Railway Telegraph which is opposite Maplins on the A205, for no other reason than it is a Sheppard Neame pub. Then the Forest Hill Hotel etc.
However, it's your idea, so it's entirely up to you.

This should be in pub talk. But splitting hairs aside, i'm not sure what pubs do 'proper' beer. Railway Telegraph is a 'yes', Forest Hill Hotel 'don't know'. I think the Hob and Capital have the odd IPA. In fact i remember the Hob having quite a good selection on draught a few years back.
The DA and Bird in Hand is a 'don't know'.
I don't think the Question do any IPA's, but the Bricklayers is a Youngs pub.(they don't do Youngs Special, but the Dulwich Woodhouse do)
The Wooodman does IPA and the Windmill should have a guest beer or two. Don't know about Foxes because i haven't been in there yet.
Don't know what pubs are in or out of LC's route, but thought it worth mentioning what i can recall. If i've missed out any pubs then please comment (maybe a sneaky at the 'All in One' through FH underpass?)

sounds like usual fayre for these parts to be honest. Adequate for my "needs" but uninspiring.
On a related note the Golden Lion have increased their selection of beer from 1 beer (courage best) a few years ago, to 2 beers about 18 months ago (+Harveys) now to 4 beers quite recently (+ Adnams and Bombadier I think) Its encouraging and nice to see - but i fail to see the point of selling 4 beers which are essentially the same style. (best bitters)

Fox's you have got to be joking. Why could it not remain Fox and Hounds at least there is not Woodies and Brickies.
Fox used to serve good beet in the 70's and usually had a pianist in. I think it was Bass. Woodman was nice local but not much real beer. The Brick was by far the best pub in the area in the 70's , atmosphere was amazing , beers great. Old fashioned landlord and landlady who loved the pub. Tom and Daisy.
Cannot go in The Brick now so depressing , sports TV etc. Fear it will never live up to its past.
Torygraph again has its moments in 70's with some of the best beer in the area also very strong Swiss bottled beer.
I would avoid the Bird unless you have earplugs, not sure about the beer but the pub a disgrace. Again used to be well managed in 70's , Whitbread I think , then became an early Wetherspoon with a great manager called Brodie who managed to source some great ales. Now best avoided.

OK, Lambchops has forgotten to update this. We are meeting in the Hob (opposite Forest Hill Railway Station) at 7.30pm this Saturday August 23rd.
The route will be largely improvisational and subject to spontaneous change, but will for the most part be along Dartmouth Road to the final destination of the Woodman. (ETA 11.00pm)
We suggest all attendees have eaten well (to line the stomach) before we set off and bring plenty of money. Look out for a tall Australian with massive sideburns and a fat, balding knuckle-dragger in the mould of Phil Mitchell (Eastenders).
