We did. So quaint, paying people by cheque. Had to find a bank to pay it in.

We only got £30 ! Small recompense for waking up at 3am to rattling pipework and having to delay my monthly bath ( whether I need one or not ) until the evening .
Makes you appreciate clean running water though .
Speaking of which , isn’t it time there was an outright ban on plastic mineral water bottles -possibly the last ungreen thing that composting, recycling and lo-packing types buy ?

They sent me a letter stating I would get a £100 cheque as we were without water for 5 days, iroinically my water meter was broken for almost a year without them realizing which meant I was not paying for water anyway.. and still getting the £100
