Well....
Apart from my many interests I have always been a fan of Astronomy and space. As a past Manager of The once London Planetarium I was lucky enough to train to operate star shows and conduct live Key stage school programmes....
Having not been involved in this area for some time I was thinks of getting back into it and wondered if anybody in Sydenham had a keen interest in this area for meets and chats. I will need to remind myself of many things I have forgot hence the meet up's.
For those who may think that Astronomy is boring and for geeks.....think again. Some of the most interesting facts about Astronomy will get you hooked.
So if anybody is interested then give me a PM for a chat...Would be good to have an SE26 Astronomy club...

Interested in Astronomy??
Hi Gaz,
I wouldn't mind joining your astronomy club. I haven't had any pratical experience for over 10 years and have never owned a telescope. However, I do have some theoretical knowledge based on the books of Hawkins, Dawkins etc. I also did a a few modules for my degree (many years ago) based on time and space.
My last observations were of the solar eclipse and Hailey's comet and I did see a satellite last month.
Am I in?

Sounds interesting - although I am very much out of practice I used to love astrology when I was younger (sorry, couldn't resist that particular joke! ).
Just come back from a holiday in Sicily where I was pointing out the constellations in the clear skies to others (it's amazing how many people didn't know about 'simple' things like what the Pole Star is!). And was out in the garden just now trying to remember when the next meteor shower is due (I suspect the Perseids?).
