Greetings and Salutations

Post by bensonby »

Well, I've made over 20 posts and I've realised I havn't actually introduced myself. Seeing that you all seem an affable enough bunch I thought I might stick around on this forum and therefore this is my formal "hello".

so.....hello. My name is Ben, I'm 21 and I'm a life-long Sydenham-ite. I've just finished my history degree at the university of Manchester and have returned to the parental nest (on account of it being cheap :!: ) and intend to stay there until I'm kicked out (don't tell the parents that - they might get ideas! )

I'm a regular at Our Lady and St Phillip Neri's Catholic Church and do some voluntary work within the borough of Lewisham at weekends. I currently work as an office temp in a big central london company until I can start with my chosen career.

I found this website after being outraged at coming home from university some months ago to find them installing those blasted gates at sydenham station. I've always had an interest in local history which has been rekindled by this website and my new-found interest in local affairs has lead me to just fill in the application form for the Sydenham society; It'll be winging its way in the post this evening!

So, that just leaves me to say:

"Greetings!"

Do come along Sunday to our meet midday Sunday in the Dolphin (probably too wet for the garden). Great to meet you. Just look for a a table with a pink FT, Alib, Mosy, possibly Lambchops and any passing dragon (sorry Pat).

Seriously all welcome!
