Saw the film last night in Surrey Quays Odeon. It is the first film ever in my experience to have received applause at the end.
Those of us who remember Cathy Come Home will be appalled that 50 years on the same Director (Ken Loach) has to make another film to make anyone of any humanity cry. Every politician in 1966 said 'This must never happen again'. But it does. Recommended to anyone who has a problem with 'benefit claimants'. Believe me - its a true life portrait of what happens to real people today.
PM me if you want to see it for free. Only one pair of tickets available if you are quick.

Re: I, Daniel Blake
I have just discovered the female lead Hayley Squires was born in Forest Hill as Hayley McGinty in 1988.
She trained at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup and graduated in 2010 with BA (Hons) Acting and is a playwright too.
