Local minicab

Post by natbeuk »

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good local minicab firm? I need to arrange a cab to collect my partner and I from Alexandra Palace in the early hours of the morning following a work function in a few weeks - as this is likely to be quite a long, expensive trip I wanted to find some reputable and reliable!

Thanks in advance :)

Hay,

The cab firm down next to Sydenham station is good. I have used them many times with no problems at all.

Good bunch of drivers.

I use Sydenham Cabs 0208 776 7676. They seem very reliable and reasonable and the cab drivers are nice.

Clockhouse Cars 020 7262 3311 based in Clockhouse funnily enough always have great cars and a proffessional service. They sent us a limo last time we used them to go to a wedding in London. If your partner wants a smooth and comfy ride home in style to rest after a night out I'd choose them.

I would have thought it would make more sense to book at cab when you are at Alexandra Palace as it miles away from here and a firm local to that area would know it better than a driver from here with a possible sat nav and map!

...but then you risk being able to find someone to come 'sarf of the river and then not knowing the way. They don't all have satnav.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys!
Savvy & Sophie - it's a bit of a rock and a hard place situation as either way we have to travel north-south and that's not ideal... but hopefully one of these companies will be happy to do that and won't get us lost :)

I have to say I have no problem returning to Sydenham in the early hours of the morning on the 176 in full tuxedo when lubricated with a little grape water. Neither do my teenage daughters who consider it relatively safe overnight.

So if you can get to Trafalgar Square or thereabouts from Ally Pally - its only 90p and regular through the night. Its just a case then of walking the last bit - or getting off at Cobbs Corner and taking the Station Cab as above.

Well, my work are actually putting on shuttles to Trafalgar Square from 3am but a) not sure if I will last that long b) not sure if I want to be sharing a bus full of over-excited sales people, and c) I'll be under the influence and wearing heels so I think I'd really appreciate just sitting in a cab all the way home! But I will consult my other half and see how he feels about it..

When we have a function or event to attend that is based in the West End etc we always use Addison Lee on 02073878888. The are reliable and have never let us down. They text you when they are at the pick up point.
They also give you the price of the journey when you book.

Good professional service.
