Timely classics to blow away the Sunday hangover!

A special blues brunch featuring standards from the songbooks of Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, Tom Waits and more. Vocalist Chris Thow and pianist Mike Perry have a musical history dating back to the 1980’s. The duo, signed to major labels EMI, A&M Records and Chappell publishing, enjoyed 10 years of writing, recording and touring. After a long period of pursuing individual projects the pair came back together in 2014 to form The Blue Amen. The Blue Amen now perform across London; a combination of original material and reinterpreted classics of real significance, including songs made famous by great female vocalists. Their dynamic live performances are delivered in a sparing blues and jazz style, and have an intense emotional depth. Special brunch menu available

Another interesting collaboration for the Crystal Palace Festival last year, the Blue Amen and the Spectrum Octet! Sounds a bit unlikely but it really worked! I'm hoping we can do some more things with them but in the meantime this'll be a very "cool" start to a sunday!
