A new sound world of innovative arrangements. Hear pieces performed in a way you have never heard them before. This 19 piece ensemble of flutes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, tuba, double bass, timpani and percussion take on the work of 80 people with energy, verve and a great deal of skill, creating a variety of sounds and textures with individual instruments highlighted in interesting and creative ways. Hear the horn section being a harp, the trumpet being a cor anglais and even the tuba being a piano and marvel at how well it works!
Fiona Bryan, Spectrum Ensemble London's leader, explores the impressions of colour, shape and texture she has when listening to music by representing them in visual form. There will be paintings exhibited of all the pieces of music in this programme.

Re: Spectrum Ensemble London
Also really looking forward to this one! I'm so lucky to be playing so much of my very favourite music all in one week! Thank you to Sydenham Arts for making this possible.
So the octet are joined by our friends in the brass, percussion and double bas department for these wonderful symphonies by Sibelius, Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff and Holst, each one a gem.
