Spectrum Ensemble London Octet

Post by SydArts »

Spectrum Ensemble London appear here as an octet of two flutes, four clarinets and two bassoons in a programme that offers great variety in terms of genres and styles from a wide range of composers. All the music was originally written for strings, solo piano, piano and orchestra or full orchestra, and has been arranged especially for the group.

Fiona Bryan, Spectrum Ensemble London's leader, explores the visual impressions of colour, shape and texture she has when listening to music by representing them in visual form. She has painted many of the pieces in Spectrum's repertoire and these Soundscapes will be on display during their concerts. Paintings displayed at this event will include the Ravel String Quartet and the Andante by Mozart.

We're all really looking forward to this concert on sunday. It's great to play such a wide variety of music from so many genres and we're really excited to be sharing it with you. From Bach to Beethoven, Schumann to Schulhoff, the delicious Ravel and Debussy, a quick blast of Walton and of course Mozart.
Hope you can come!

Fiona ( Spectrum Octet )
