I thought I'd share this:
This Programme is an internationally recognised collaboration between the GLA and Spacehive, the worlds first civic crowdfunding website. The programme gives any organised group the opportunity to pro-actively pitch an innovative project idea for their local area through the Spacehive website. Projects can then receive financial backing and support from ‘the crowd’ followed potentially by a pledge by the Mayor of up to £20,000. Projects to date have included the Peckham Coal Line and Good Food Catford.
£730,000 of Mayoral investment is available this year for rounds 3 and 4 of the programme.
To have a chance of securing a Mayoral pledge in round 3, project proposals must start their crowdfunding campaign on Spacehive by May 1st 2016. We are connecting with you to ensure as many people/communities/groups as possible are aware of this amazing opportunity to transform the places in which Londoners live, work and visit. Our aim is to diversify the applicant pool seeking to gain funding and we believe working with London based agencies is vital in reaching such audiences.
This programme is democratising the business of civic change by allowing people to fuel the projects they want to see in London and ensuring local priorities are met by support from Government.
