Cryptic message on Twitter re Late Knights/Beer Rebellion

That's exciting news about the Alexandra pub. Does anyone know if work has started in earnest? external or internal....
I'm sure it will transform what is rather an eyesore currently into a lovely restoration of a handsome period building (here's hoping!!!)

No work yet on the outside but I saw a picture of the bar and the ceiling had been completely removed so obviously work is ongoing.

I was at their place in Brighton last weekend, again a old tired pub that they had taken over. It was fantastic. Good beer, and not cask-jacket cooled like in some of their other establishments. And really good grub. One of the best burgers I've ever had, though the deep-fried battered gerkin was probably a gastronomic step too far.

Hi - does anyone have any news on the Alexandra pub?

It's such a lovely building and it's shame it's currently an eyesore opposite the lovely Alexandra Nurseries....

I believe Late Knights were seeking to take over, but once certain building works had been completed..... Any rumours out there folks?

Last Late Knights missive I read about this said May opening, I think.

But to quote from their website:

"As we have always said, this is out of our hands and in the hands of the owners and if you ever stick your head in the door you'll see the hard work they are doing (but there is a lot of it to be done). Our role comes in right at the end when we let Bethany loose with a paint brush and Sam sorts out the cellar and stick our beer in!"
