I can recommend The Archie Parker in Forest Hill if you can stray that far. They do a great build-you-own salad bowl at lunchtime.

Fig and Pistachio has the best quiche I've ever had.

On The Hoof does perfectly alright gastropubby type food - I had a mushroom burger and chips in there once that was very nice, and a chicken & chorizo burger that was nicer.
I've eaten lunch midweek in Cherry & Ice several times - mostly because it's a good place to sit and work on a laptop for several hours and use their wi-fi. It does good veggie and meat lasagne, in a 70s-style home-cooked comfort-food way. And some decent salads, although their sandwiches are a bit overpriced.

For veggie, Calabash of Culture is amazing. The people are nice too. I think they should focus more on the food and make it a nicer place to sit inside because the food really is special.
On another nice note, their takeaway boxes are made from sustainable bagasse (waste sugarcane) which I like.
For lunch we go to the Dolphin, Brown & Green, Aga's Deli, On The hoof is good and I want to get around to trying the Sushi place in Kirkdale at some point.

Calabash of Culture have recently put in more tables and appear to be focusing more on their lovely food.
