Out of interest, where did you find one? I thought all solicitors were automatically CfOs, or am I wrong? I haven't needed to swear an oath in years, but back in the days when I did it cost a fiver which went straight into the tea-and-coffee-money tin!

There's an official website saying who is acceptable and yes includes solicitors.
The cost was £10 for each copy page stamped. I won't say the name of the solicitor as I don't know how that cost compares with others. (As you say, a lot more than the pocket money last time I had a document certified.)
Still, needs must. No complaint as it was a quick and fuss-free.
