I witnessed the aftermath of what appeared to be a serious accident/incident involving a motorbike rider at around 11.00pm last night at the junction of mayow road and sydenham road.
Police and ambulance services were in attendance.
I hope the rider is ok as things didnt look too good.

Yes, I saw the aftermath too. It looked like a pizza delivery moped to me. They were taking a great deal of care moving the stretcher. I couldn't see if any other vehicle was involved. AFAIR, that's the second major accident at that junction in the last year.

Yeah, looked like a bad one. Can't find any information online.
Very dangerous junction which was "improved" only 18 months ago. Another road user sacrificed on the altar of "smoothing traffic flow".

My mistake. The crash I was referring to was October 2013. Remembered here (strange place). Almost identical position:

I seem to remember that there was a collision very recently between a coach and a minicab further along Mayow Road towards Forest Hill.

No, that was on Perry Vale.topofthehill wrote:I seem to remember that there was a collision very recently between a coach and a minicab further along Mayow Road towards Forest Hill.

And I also see from following that link that someone was killed after being hit by a train at Sydenham Hill. My heart goes out to everyone affected - family and friends, and the poor driver and guard of the train.
Re: Accident Mayow road junction last night
Pizza go go confirmed it was one one of their delivery drivers involved who suffered a broken leg but otherwise ok.
The car involved fled the scene.

No surprise there. Hit and run is basically the norm in London:pip wrote:The car involved fled the scene
