For the last week whenever I turn the cold water tap on I get very cloudy water,almost chalky looking.It tastes awful as well,is anybody else having the same problem

You know what, I've noticed this for the last month or so. You have to let the water settle down til it looks clear. What's going on!?
Haven't noticed any difference with the taste though.

Just noticed you're in upper Syd - me too.

According to Thames Water ................... if it clears from the 'bottom to the top' it is only air in their pipes, probably due to the amount of work that is currently going on in Sydenham.

There is no need to boil it.

We've got cloudy water on Kirkdale too...... Thames Water are doing works around the corner at the moment.
