NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
In from TfL:
On Saturday and Sunday, there is no service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon due to Network Rail track maintenance work.
Which presumably means Southern will not be running either. Please note this includes SATURDAY as well as SUNDAY which is unusual.

Yes, Southern has a replacement bus service.

Re: NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
Does anyone know whether the replacement buses run on any sort of timetable? Do they stop at all stations (e.g. FH as well as Sydenham)?
Re: NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
Robin - I don't know. However, unless you have a pre-booked or season ticket it will probably be cheaper and faster to use the 176 (north) or 75/197 (south) to reach most destinations. These do have timetables and, even better, TfL's natty mobile website http://m.tfl.gov.uk (get live bus arrivals) will tell you when the next few buses are due to arrive at your bus stop.

I need to get to Goldsmiths' College, so I guess it's the 122 and the 171.
Re: NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
Replacement buses travel to each train station.
Re: NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
I fear there's going to be a lot more of this over the next few weeks (see http://www.sydenham.org.uk/forum/viewto ... f=1&t=7088) - day *and* night, mainly night, and probably all weekends, I think.

They stop at every station and previously used to run every 15 mins, not sure about this timeRobin Orton wrote:Does anyone know whether the replacement buses run on any sort of timetable? Do they stop at all stations (e.g. FH as well as Sydenham)?

Re: NO TRAINS THIS WEEKEND
We seem to have got very slack at (given up?) bumping these various threads, but I thought I should warn people that in addition to the situation at Sydenham (which I believe is no trains, only buses? - to find departures exactly every ten minutes is highly suspicious) this weekend, there are no trains via Penge East/Sydenham Hill on Sunday either.
Nobody actually *wanted* to go anywhere tomorrow, did they?

I think we have just become used to it. More often than not there are no trains/overground on the weekend and will remain being often until the crossrail works are finished.alywin wrote:We seem to have got very slack at (given up?) bumping these various threads,
