Is the second one down, of the Screen of Kings and Queens published by Russell and Sons? It's on old Negretti and Zambra image, nice one of "Chaucer" by John Graham Lough to the left, submitted in the competition for sculpture at the Houses of Parliement in 1844, and the only copy.

Yeah... Hey, do you think there might be some rare Crystal Palace postcards out there that you've never seen before (or ones that aren't listed in that book Ian was advertising)?

Yeah
Does that mean yes it is published by Russell & Sons? I do have an example of this image as a cabinet card. It's also on the Notre Famille website I think.

There are certainly listings in the Fred Pesket and Bill Tonkin book, that I don't recognise, as well as some I either have, or have seen for sale, that aren't listed in the book. It is a nightmare to use, with a huge section for "unknown publishers" at the back, and without illustrations I have no idea what they refer to.

I have thought of posting the equivalent on postcards as a thread here, the book lists them them by alphabetically by subject creator, and/or publisher, and I can't decide what order I should use myself.

Russell and Sons were the earliest, with access to the Negretti and Zambra archive. There's an explosion of different publishers with the Festival of Empire 1911, and after WW1 when the craze for picture postcards subsides, there's really just Photochrom who also published the guidebooks, with a few by Judges.

Yep!

So that means there could be some rare postcards in circulation out there that you have never seen, nor the authors of that book?
