Hi All
Can anyone advise on the situation with regards to catchment area's in relation to lower syd for mixed or boys secondary schools ? as it's a hot topic in the household and my 10 year old will be making the leap next year for 2015/2016 !
We are a little new to the area and not certain what school would suit him best (Loves maths, sporty, languages, choir, drama / acting, computers etc) his current levels are above average but it's a minefield of what 6 choices to put down in oct for the transfer (He is going to sit the Kent grammar tests but would prefer a local school).
Does any other parents have children at any of the following ? any preferences #?
1) Forest hill boys
2) Kingsdale Foundation
3) Harris Crystal Palace
4) Sedgehill
5) St Dunstains (with bursary not too keen tho)
6) Kent grammar shools ? (A very long shot for a top 180 place)
I just really want to know where other local children go and if they are happy and being pushed to the most of their ability.
Many thanks for any replies !!

Forest Hill boys is excellent

If you're applying to the "Kent" grammar schools (they're actually in Bromley borough) then another good option is the grammars in Sutton, which is quite easy to get to by train I believe. They include Wallington, Wilson's and Sutton Grammar. I think they might be easier to get into than St Olave's.
Hope this helps!
