FOREST SCHOOL, MAYOW PARK

Post by leenewham »

We went to this today, its on Mondays at 10 till 12 just to the right of the adventure playground/zipwire.

It's really wonderful, really well run. It's for Pre-schoolers and our son had a great time. It was fantastic seeing all the kids engaged in thoughtful activities. I'd highly recommend it.

Every kid was into it, not a single one standing on the sidelines moving wood chippings via ropes and buckets, sitting around listening to stories, making animals out of mud and sticks, doing rubbings of leaves and wood, finding colours and making forest art, tree climbing, making rope swings, mud playing, worm fishing and den building.

It's the sort of great initiative that should be really well supported around here.

It would be great if they expanded it with the support of a local school. We never had anything like it when I went to school, despite growing up down in Devon.

Local election candidates have been invited too. Tom Chance from the Greens went last week, Alex Feaks was there today.

We will definitely go again.
