I Wish We'd Introduced Help To Buy Earlier - Cameron
Labour plans home-building fund for first-time buyers
'Help to rent' scheme for young people proposed by Liberal Democrats
All these are barmy - all would just do more to push up house prices, with the Lib Dems specifically aiming to boost the returns to buy to let landlords, with the kicker that, like those with student loans, young people would be expected to pay back the help their landlords will get.
The Labour Party makes noises about these funds to be used for building houses, but are Barratts, Taylor Wimpey etc. actually strapped for cash?
The issue is the problem of supply, and they are all frit of the NIMBYs!

Thank you Tim Lund. I agree. These schemes from the Lib-Lab-Con merchants effectively transfer taxpayers and rent payers money to landlords. They deceive the gullible.
You are right that the problem is one of supply. I'd be interested to hear your solutions. What policies do you support on this. I understand there is room for about 1.5m new homes on brownfield sites alone.
However the issue is also one of demand. The more immigration there is, the greater the demand for housing. This is one reason why I support a zero immigration policy for five years. Unfortunately no major party supports this either - not even UKIP.
