Dumped mattresses

Post by gerispringer »

From Penge to crystal palace park I counted 4 dumped mattresses . Can anyone understand the mentality of anyone who leaves such items on the street? Is there anyone in LBB I can complain to?

What borough does the area fall into? Bromley? Report it to them.

However... If, like Lewisham, that borough does free mattress collection, they may not be dumped, just left out for collection. I recently booked a mattress collection and was told to leave it out immediately, but that collection might take up to a week.

Bromley don't do free mattress collections but do respond to FixMyStreets reports. I saw the 4 mattresses too and a sofa. Looks awful.

Dumped mattresses

In my view, graffiti and fly-tipping simply encourage more graffiti and fly-tipping, so the quicker we can get rid of them the better. To get rid of them, we need to report them. Reports can be submitted on line:

- Lewisham Council uses http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/e ... fault.aspx and http://www.lovecleanstreets.com

- Bromley Council uses https://fix.bromley.gov.uk/ and https://www.fixmystreet.com/

Apps for can also be downloaded for both Love Clean Streets and Fix My Street.

That's useful to know. I have things dumped in my front garden overnight. Sick of clearing up after others who don't give a damn.
