Very good! Thanks for scanning and sharing with us. These Crystal Palace Programmes are most useful for finding out about exactly which exhibits/entertainments were on offer at the palace. They have some down at Bromley Library. By studying these, you can find out when the Aquarium became the Monkey House, for example, and follow the evolution of the palace and the park, including how the industrial courts changed names over the years. You can know about featured fairground rides like The Switchback Railway when photos of it are quite rare.

This is brilliant!

One thing puzzles me about Crystal Palace Park. That is the large towwerblock near the sports stadium.

1. What is it?
2. Does anyone live there?
3. How on earth did it ever get permission to be there?
4. Has it always had the same use?
5. Is it going to survive the work planned on the park?

From a postcard unsold on ebay this week.

I was always told it was built for visiting athletes.

Hi
I believe it is accomadation for competitors, a kind of 'Olympic village', but from a more modest age.
