Would a Cooking Studio for kids and adults work for the area?
Idea being to involve the community, master classes on anything from traditional Bread Making to learning about french pastries, jam making, Cheese, Chocolate etc. etc.
Creating a passion for good food. Kids would learn good eating habits and knowing a little about nutrition and simply having fun.
Have lots of plans - just wondering about demand.

Sounds like a great idea.... baking cakes etc also good. I think demand would be there as long as publicity was high profile etc
Re: Kirkdale Cooking Studio
I'd come to a class, cake making, pastry, soup making, all sorts.

I would too - especially something specialist like chocolate/sweet making or vienoisserie. A friend of mine went on a specialist course to learn how to prepare fish and seafood which looked great. Could be lots of opportunities to connect with other local businesses/suppliers and boost our local economy further.

So would I...
.... and I wld bring along my two grand kids for the children version courses - being brought up by a father who is a chef they already show huge interest in cooking and I know they would just love it!

Yes, definitely, would be a great addition to Sydenham!

I know we have talked about this before, as you know I think it's great idea for a business. Go for it. Here are a few more ideas:
Giving vouchers for lessons for presents is a good idea. I have a number of friends who have done this. make them look nice of course so they are nice to receive as a gift.
Being able to cook is a hot topic right now. Perhaps having 'make and share' lessons, where some people share their family recipes (and other ideas) will make it much more than just a cookery school.
Sydenham doesn't have a strategy for what the high street should be, I think it should and i think the focus should be food to build on what is already there. Perhaps with that in mind, a 'local ingredients' lesson with everything sourced locally might be another idea?

Really good ideas Lee in my view. I think some themed sessions would be good too "Italian" or "Gingerbread families" are two very contrasting themes!!
