If you're aware of any please get them reported to the council so they can investigate. Let's also get this shop exposed on here so that we can all avoid it in future, they'll soon go out of business and then hopefully something decent can open in it's place.

Sydenham rogue landlords
Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
The report doesn't name which shop it is?
Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
Only that it's in "Sydenham High Road". Anyone know where that is?

Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
How can anyone not shop there if they don't know where it is?

Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
I'm making enquiries as to whether there is some legal reason why the address is not given, copying in Admin
Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
I think if there is an issue with food hygiene then the public should be told where to avoid.

A Sydenham flat with a rat infestation and illegally hot-wired electrics was among two properties inspected by Lewisham Council in a crack down on rogue landlords.
The overcrowded flat, located at the back of a shop on Sydenham High Road, had been shared by several residents each paying £220 in rent per month with an unsanitary bathroom located adjacent to the shop’s food storage area.
Food safety inspectors returned to the premises to ensure stored produce was not being sold to the public after seizing bottles of whisky on which duty had not been paid as well as stocks of illegal tobacco.

Plus:- "The business owner failed to cooperate with police and council inspectors and subsequently further legal action will be taken."
As stated, this is a public health issue that could affect any of us, get them named I say then we can all avoid this disgusting outfit in future. Surely it must be on Sydenham Road?

Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
Councillor Egan has asked senior officers to respond directly to your enquiry regarding the recent article in the News Shopper on Rogue Landlords, and has also asked to receive a copy of this response.
Re: Sydenham rogue landlords
Dear Mr Lund
Thank you for your recent contact with Cllr Egan regarding a recent news report on action taken by the Council.
The Council does not publish details until there has been successful prosecution or we are required to comment because the information is already in the public domain. In the meantime, any emergency action needed to protect the public will be taken by the Council.
I hope that this is useful.
