Been there, tried that.I'm going to give that 1924lineone a run for his money this time, so whatever you do, don't get involved! This is strictly a matter between 1924lineone and myself."
I once, in a set of stereoviews, started with the first and bid £20, the next 30, and so on till at the end the price was £140. And he still outbid me on every one.
If "1924lineone" really wants it, you aren't having it.
He's an unpredictable bugger, so if you want to schill bid, be prepared to get stuck with paying over the odds.
Still "tinted" views aren't as popular.
Looks like somebody else is giving him a run for his money on that crappy Byzantine Court view (tinted), but have no idea who it is... Apart from that, 1924lineone seems to have the rest secured at incredibly high prices. It never used to be this bad on Ebay... how much did the north wing views go for? They are much more rare than the facade of the foreign court.
I managed to win 1 card (fountains) at a reasonable price, which was actually my most wanted, although least wanted by others. I like it because it shows the Crystal Colonnade/low level corridor, Rosary AND existing side pool to the south grand fountain! Quite a few of the upper series and lower series are seen in operation. It will be interesting to scan it in @ 720 dpi, reverse it, and see what kind of detail emerges. The view is definitely unique with regards to the fountains (my favourite aspect of Crystal Palace history). I was rather disappointed not to win it first time round, but now I'm a happy man!

This is the best I can do using rotation, resizing, stitching and blending...
I've just realised that Terry's view is taken from a slightly different angle with less coverage, but slightly more detail.
This looks like Anerley Gardens!
This is not seen in Terry's view, so both stereoviews must have been taken either side of 1868 when the gardens closed.

Compare and contrast with the previous one that was on Ebay...
They're both taken from a similar period, but the one I was so gutted about not winning happens to be cropped of the tall spray coming from the south grand fountain. Damn, it looks like I own the best fountains view out of the whole lot!
However, parts of the fountains still remain unseen:
*South/north grand fountain(s) taken from ground level along the grand centre walk--similar to the Nelson side view--or from the east (during operation).
*Close-up of one of the side pools during operation.
*Close-up of one of the side pools showing the mini cascade.
*Close up of the water temples in operation.
*Cascades/stone arcades in operation.
Terry, my old mate, does your almighty collection include photos/stereoviews matching any of the above criteria?

Here's illustrations of all the views unseen in photographic form:
*Cascades/stone arcades in operation.

*Close up of the water temples in operation.
Do any photos exist showing these viewpoints?
