Hi Can't help re the former owner. I did have some success by sending stamped addressed envelopes to neighbours in a similar situation. Perhaps the estate agents noted on the for-sale sign might help, since they'd know who'd put the property on the market. They'd be wary of giving info out (privacy laws and poss an intention to avoid their commission), but I'd have thought they'd pass a message on to the vendor (if they don't already know the answer) if you say pretty please?
