Lewisham library

Okay, I know it's not really Sydenham, but I don't know where else to ask: can someone please fill me in on what's (not) happening to Lewisham Library, please? I thought it was supposed to be being/have been refurbished.

Dunno. I'm afraid I don't use Lewisham Libraries. Because, if you are near to Sydenham Station then the most convenient library is the modern Idea Store in Whitechapel - about 100 yards from the station. It has probably the most extensive range of books in a London municipal library, real librarians, you can use your Lewisham library card and you can search for books with the same web app.

It's remarkable that one of the poorest boroughs (Tower Hamlets) has so many superb libraries compared to Lewisham. Canary Wharf is an alternative but needs a change at Canada Water and is further from the station.
