There was a power cut in the Silverdale Rd/Mayow Perk area of Sydenham around 10.30 pm Sunday night.
Only for ten minutes.
Which other areas were effected?

A nice cobbled area surrounding the pub with victorian style gas lantern lamp posts, delicatessen/cafe/gallery.Flower stalls, weekend farmers market. Would really bring a lift to the area me thinks.

MILITARY JETS FLYING LOW OVER SYDENHAM
Did anybody notice 4 military jet fighters flying on their side low over sydenham on the afternoon of the great fire of sydenham?
If so, what was it all about?
What with the fire and smoke. it was like being in a war zone when those jets buzzed us at 500 ft!!

BARRIERS AT SYDENHAM STATION
As i'm sure many of you are aware, the entrance to Sydenham station platform 2 has been enlarged to presumably accomodate barriers.

housing
Take a drive around Sydenham and you'll cover it all in 20 mins.
Find the area/ street you like the vibe of, try to avoid "social housing" areas and try to keep 10 mins walk from the station. I would have thought you could find a nice period conversion for a decent price now.

Pizza in SE26
Try "Il Ponte" on the Crystal Palece Triangle.
They do deliveries too.Quite cheap.
Probably the best in this area.
Trust me, i'm Italian and picky about my pizzas!

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO IMPROVE THE HIGH STREET?
Sydenham High Street is probably the worst looking run down "urban" high street in the whole area.
Gentrification has crept from Lordship to Honoar Oak,Forest Hill,Crystal Palace and Gypsy Hill but stops at SE26.
Let's be honest, the Christmas lights are chavtastic, the street furniture & rubbish ...
