Ooh, I'm looking forward to seeing these when I visit Sydenham next week.

'Every little helps' is Tesco's well-known tagline, ironically for the location in question.

There wouldn't be anything stopping them conducting email surveys among their members about important policy issues.

Re: Sydenham Market is back on 2nd Saturday of the month

Presumably they also failed to take up the idea (stated here ad nauseum) to grant a consession to one of the numerous successful private sector market operators who, week after week, successfully run local markets across south London. Ah well, at least my local council here in cardiff (where I now ...

Re: Sydenham Green Group Practice

Can't you book apointments online? They use the same onlone booking system as the Wells Park Practice. From memory, I think this means visiting in person once to get the paperwork and yo confirm your ID and then never having to call again for a routine appointment, nor for repeat prescriptions. You ...

I used Fantastic Cleaners, which had a local operator in Sydenham. They were fine - prices are specified on their website.

Re: Sydenham Market is back on 2nd Saturday of the month

Quite. I now live in Cardiff, but am also still a regular visitor to Sydenham. I therefore continue to take an interest in this issue. One weekend, I have this mad idea of grabbing lunch with some friends at a great Sydenham market, and then going for a pint in the Greyhound. Well, you can dream ...

Re: Sydenham Market is back on 2nd Saturday of the month

On several occasions in the past, I've moaned to the powers that be about the monthly Sydenham market. I used to visit numerous markets across the capital, and Sydenham market was of one the most rubbish and infrequent. I also suggested a practical solution to several organisations, including SEE3 ...

Re: Conveyancing Solicitor

So long as you can have your ID confirmed and can send a scan of your ID to your solicitor, you can use anyone in the country. There no real benefit of 'local' knowledge to speed things along. I used a lady called Rhunedd (pronouced Reeneth) Thomas at Spickets Battrick in Cardiff for my Sydenham ...

Re: Best dog walks in SE London

If you want something a little different, you could also try going to South Norwood Country park. It's a bit of a faff to get to the main car park - down a random terrace street - but it has a nice air of urban wilderness about it. If you'd like to take the demon dog for a post-walk drink, there are ...

Re: Can anybody recommend an estate agent?

Both me and my neighbour recently used Mann in Sydenham, and we've no complaints. We got them to price match another agent's fees at 1.5 per cent, and didn't notice any lack of urgency from them as a result. We got quotes from three estate agents, one from Forest Hill, one from Crystal Palace and ...

Re: Where the chuff does one start with a new kitchen?

What everyone else said, but with one extra comment. My parents have a sparkly shiny work top which notionally look great but they hate because it shows every single mark. So we opted for a matt finish to avoid that problem -it was cheaper too. I just we'd read more sink reviews. Ours is a limescale ...

They can insist purelake indemnify them for any rent loss caused by delays . but purelake will probably only agree to that if, bluntly, Lewisham put a gun against their head. A threat of a criminal prosecution against individual directors should help concentrate minds.

Re: Dog barking every evening, Kirkdale/Sydenham Park?

You can buy device that responds with an unpleasant 'high frequency sound that only dogs can hear every time it barks. I bought one for my own mutt, and it trained him pretty quickly to stop barking at night. Not an ideal solution, but also one that should preserve neighbour relations. You don't ...

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey

Can I make an observation regarding community consultations? Although by no means perfect, Bromley are using surveymonkey to gauge the community's reactions to various proposals for improvements to Crystal Palace Park. It's probably going to produce a reliable reflection of what "the community ...
