Re: More senseless death
There are rumours of another fatal stabbing on Sydenham road, near the library, but I can't find anything about it in the news. Does anyone have any info? Hoping it's not true.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
I don't know about the accident map but I have witnessed an accident on Silverdale in the recent past, a head on collision between two cars. Plus multiple incidents of road rage and queues well past Bishops Thorpe in the mornings.
Agreed on the bridge although it will never be bike friendly.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Silverdale was one of these roads too.the roads with the pollution and accidents are not on the leafy back roads.
Locally, it is Mayow Rd, Perry Vale/Perry Rise and Sydenham Rd

It was 9 March around 7 p.m. There was a gunshot, the road was close off by police. I believe someone was shot in the leg.

I wonder if this is connected to the shooting on Burghill Road a few weeks ago.

Surely if people want to live in them it's the direct opposite of nimby. It seems like a shortsighted nimby move
I love the LTNs and would like to see a lot more.

Kirkdale Books on Bookshop.org
You can now shop at Kirkdale Books via Bookshop.org. It's very easy to use and means you can keep getting your books there even if you can't get into the shop.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Not sure how wise it is to revive this thread but wanted to say how grateful I am for this LTN now that we're back in lockdown. I'm clinically vulnerable and no longer feel able to use Mayow Park as it's too busy with too little attention paid to distancing. Bishops Thorpe and Silverdale provide a ...

Re: Back from school
Sydenham schools in Lewisham schools will have lost 48 hours to replicate this. I can't see how they can achieve this by Monday - so the workers for our essential services will not know if they can deliver or not.

Re: Masks
Today, I had to make a journey which involves 4 buses (2 there/2 back). I duly purchased face masks for this having been told like the rest of us that this is now mandatory. I am extremely surprised and upset that the vast majority of who would be classed within "BAME" were NOT wearing face masks ...
