As this thread is about Sydenham Regeneration, I was wondering if Chris Best (or perhaps one of her colleagues) could tell us what is being done to push for the substantial TfL grant of £1.75 million that I mentioned earlier in this conversation.

May I suggest that we spend the £5,000 tidying up what we've got before putting in new trees / benches etc. Maybe some grafitti removal, replacement / disposal of dead telephone boxes, repairing the lighting by the station (ready for winter), fixing street signs etc. Once that's done, I'd vote for ...

New Shop on the highstreet?
Does anyone know what the plans are for the empty "Hempire" shop on the High Street? (just up from Newlands Park Rd) There is a bright yellow "Change of Use" notice on the front door and it mentions the the installation of a "Duct" for something or other.

I cant argue with what you're saying and I'm certainly no expert.
But if you look at Forest Hill, the highstreet was similar to Sydenham in the 90s and then most of the shops were forced to close and only then (after a period where the highstreet was almost dead) did the regeneration start to take ...
