Re: Licence application for gambling……
And the next step from this firm is to apply for a loosening of their licence to 24 hrs in a year's time. Couple this with allowing debit card usage in casinos plus allowing more higher stakes machines and this really is quite grim news for gambling addicts and the rest of us combined. Nothing to do ...

After walking past on Friday evening, the old Bob's shop has now been rebranded as Kenrick's Wine Merchants - looking forward to giving it a try!

We bumped into Ken who owns Bobs. He said it is reopening after a refit with some new branding as a wine shop again.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Unless the council remove the barriers in the middle of the night (as the one on Bishopsthorpe disappeared between 11pm and midnight), I think that might be the work of someone not linked to the council with the right key to put the bollards down.

Ah my mistake you're bang on. Should be easy enough to track the owner then. Ridiculous and unsafe behaviour.JMLF wrote:Looks like JXS to me. Can’t quite understand the reasoning behind stuff like this. At all.

Re: Payless, Sydenham
Yep, I witnessed and photographed a bizarre incident at 5.45pm on 24th November. I was waiting at the pedestrian crossing when a white Audi swerved in and honked me repeatedly and aggressively to get out of the way. He then mounted the drop-kerb there and drove along the pavement scattering ...

Re: Planning - CAB unit change of use to restaurant
From the look of it it's a different company on the application form - Roseview (London) limited as opposed to Nandos Chickenshop limited so doesn't look like part of that enterprise. Looking at companies House, the parent company is turnhold properties limited, a real estate developer, so there may ...

Re: Been to The Greyhound yet?
I've been twice now and enjoyed the food a lot. Went the first time shortly after opening and had some great mackerel and lemon sole followed by a lovely crumble. My partner's cassoulet wasn't quite there but otherwise pretty impressed. The second time I had a good cheese mousse followed by a decent ...

Sadly the owner got sick and they closed back in January. It was on their Facebook page. A pity as I was very much looking forward to trying it (relatively new to the area) but missed our chance.

Looking forward to this - meat from The Butchery in forest hill and seemed to go down well when it was at St. David's.
