Re: Calabash of Culture
Thanks for all the tips, I have put my objections in.
I love fried chicken, but another cheap chicken place on the high street really isnt needed. How much custom can they really get with two competitors a few hundred yards away?

Re: Bus Drivers on strike - newlands Park
That reminds me - must sent complaints in to all involved - the kerbs and pavements are now cracked and broken all along the road. Nuts!

Bus Drivers on strike - newlands Park
So the constant diverted traffic from the blasted hole in the road in Crystal Palace just ended up with a flurry of bus drivers getting out in protest as they refused to mount the pavement in order to pass each other as there were too many of them on the road. Solidarity with them though - the ...

Re: fake Big Issue seller?
I guess people mention nationality as a lot of people’s experience with the fake Big Issue scams do seem to come from the same backgrounds. I’m sure there was a channel 4 documentary on gangs exploiting the more vulnerable to sell for them. Often as covers for other shady dealings.

Re: Penge Homebase closed - now Bunnings warehouse
This is terrible news! I loved Bunnings (I thought the quality and price of their plants was far better than homebase). it always was pretty busy in there so this is a huge huge shame. heres hoping the new owners put something similar in there.

Re: Remember to vote today
Oh god, its like picking the best of a band bunch. One of the chaps said his mission was to build more houses with 40% being 'genuinely affordable.' poor choice of words maybe, but it does read like the other 60% are going to be NOT AFFORDABLE lol.

Re: Poundstretcher in old co-op site
I would prefer an Aldi to a Poundstretcher. At least then I could get a whole shop rather than literally buying tat which is what happens whenever I go into the pound shop in Penge! Plus, Lidl is always busy, the queues are huge despite the check out assistants throwing your food at you at neck ...

Re: Penge Homebase closing - or perhaps not?
Went to Bunnings (Penge Homebase) on Saturday morning. Really please - they seem to have utilised more of the outdoor space than HB did, the garden area was full of really decent quality and affordable plants - the HB ones always looked like they were on their last legs. Friendly chirpy staff. Plus ...

Re: STILL NO SYDENHAM CHRISTMAS TREE OR LIGHTS?!
I put my tree up on the 27th November. Every year I have always waited until December, but this year I thought 'Sod it' and put it up. My house. My Tree. Its me that has to look at it, no one else, and it makes me happy, so whats the harm?

Re: Big crash outside station - Sydenham road closed
I disagree - I on a daily basis see 1: cars running red lights at speed 2: cars speeding when the traffic is clear the junction at newlands park is particulary bad. I am not exaggerating when I say I see this every single day. This is in addition to cars parking off the junction, blocking busses ...

New Builds on Sydenham High Street
Now the scaffolding has come off I was pleased to see they have attempted to keep with the style of the high street with the roof. However I see the scummy Acorn agency are pimping these flats out http://www.acornnewhomes.co.uk/property-for-sale/1-bedroom-flat-in-sydenham-road-london-se26-P211663 ...
