Re: Newlands Park this AM

Other party was a motorbike, apparently - in the words of one of the coppers directing traffic: "messy".

Thoughts to those involved...

Bromley could give us one of their two especially as they're only 0.41 miles apart! Greedy lot
Not quite sure where you get that from - the two Bromley stores are about 1 mile as the crow flies, 1.8 by road, or about an hour by car... Paws off! ;)

Incidentally, the dragon roof-hip-end-thingies (to use the technical term) were, I think, quite common around the turn of the century - they can be seen on quite a few buildings around south-east London, not just the Forest Hill baths.

Regarding the issuing of replacement season tickets, they are actually obliged under the various terms & conditions to issue a replacement season ticket at ANY station. I used to have a letter which quoted the exact part, as when I commuted through Canary Wharf the barriers used to mangle tickets ...

A couple of tips I was given by a policeman (although never needed to use them) - most muggers will try to engage you, by asking the time, for a light etc. Remember that you don't have any obligation to speak to someone you're not sure about - if you just ignore them and keep walking, most of the ...

I have to agree that I can't see it causing a major increase in the traffic in surrounding roads, and what increase there will be is most likely to be cars driven at sensible speeds - compared to stationery traffic during the day or the prevalent high-speed minicabs during the night, I can't see ...

Can you be more specific with which area you are talking about? I used to live on Sydenham Park Road, with a rear view partly on to Peak Hill houses, partly on to Kinver Road, and partly onto the empty area by the railway lines. If that's the area you mean then it's complicated, but I might be able ...

Also doesn't help if you ask the driver and they tell you essentially to get lost, or that the bus bvehind will let you on anyway (of course they will...)

Used to get it a lot on the 208 from Bromley to Lewisham kicking people out at Catford - gave up in the end, and bought a motorbike instead!

I saw a tabby with white paws on Peak Hill two nights ago, near the junction with Collingtree Road. It was a fairly big/longer haired cat? I live in the area and have not seen that particular cat before. Before hopes are raised, I suspect that may be one of mine, currently staying in Syd Park Road ...

They are indeed very good, although parking tends to be a pain (especially now that the Greyhound is closed...). I just wish someone could convince them to buy a credit card machine! Incidentally, Poppy, it's a Wickes in Catford - the nearest B&Q is (I think)either Greenwich or Croydon. There's no ...

Back to the bus lane issue, I meant to update this a while back but completely forgot! I emailed Lewisham council in September, who confirmed that the bus lane is not yet in operation, as they haven't applied for the traffic order for it yet! Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the email (over ...

Kirkdale Bus Lane

Has anyone found a sign indicating the times/permissions for the new bus lane on Kirkdale? I've been past a few times recently and haven't yet managed to spot one, although I may just be unobservant! If there isn't one, then apparently the bus lane is unenforceable... ( http://www.ticketfighter.co ...
