Re: New Barber - Recommendation!
I tried the new barber on station approach, and add my recommendation, really happy with the cut and a friendly chap too. I'll definitely be going back.

Re: sticky:RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
Ate there tonight. Standard Nandos fare with the to-be-expected teething issues... long wait for the food and some of it was a bit over done when it arrived... all in all though it looks good inside and the staff are friendly and the initial wrinkles will be ironed out.

Not sure I've ever seen a more ridiculous planning decision than this. Bookies are parasites in the local community and there are plenty of others. Planners and councillors should be biting the hand off anyone who wants to change the use of the property, particularly one that essentially has ...

Re: Poodle club
I agree, the poodle club is great. Beer rebellion was good but was struggling to be a viable business. Can't believe the level of griping about the poodle club and what seems to be some fairly misinformed opinions about underhand tactics. Let's just let it go and support the brilliant new addition ...
Re: Mural?
I'd go for the 3rd image too
Re: Mural?
I really like the mural idea - does it have to be on a network rail site? How hard would it be to get it on the side of a private property? I'm thinking the side wall facing the railway as you come across the bridge from the roundabout - it's a much bigger space than those pictured earlier and more ...

Re: Childcare near Sydenham station
We're at Cherish and our little one loves it. The staff are great, the fees are pretty reasonable and so are the management / policies in terms of sickness etc. The facilities are really good too and in summer the kids have access to a big garden. The place had a poorer reputation from the previous ...

Re: Little Nans Bar Seek Space
What about the former Grannie's Goodies on Kirkdale? Would fit nicely in concept with the lovely Mabel's 5 and dime and Behind the boxes as well as possibly complementing the excellent 161. Or is it too small? Or there's the old offy on the corner near Sugahill? With the Greyhound returning and ...

Sounds great. We're just novices really, only had a garden since september but we've had great fun planting stuff and learning as we go so if we can cultivate and contribute we'd be delighted to

Re: The Alexandra
We've popped in once and thought it was really good, the sort of place I'd love to have round the corner. Personally I prefer to be able to drink a pint but think the smaller glasses are becoming more normal with the proliferation of choice of craft beer options and strong beers as has already been ...

Re: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
Personally I'd be okay with any of those chains mentioned, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat in one. We'd definitely use a local cinema though if they did family friendly stuff, or for a date night!

Re: Is there ever any good news for Sydenham.?
Some more good news... Waffle Station on Kirkdale has opened, bringing an empty unit back into use. Think it opened on sat but they don't seem to have publicised their launch. Ate there on sun eve, the food was good treat sort of stuff and pretty reasonable, think it makes a great addition to the ...

Re: Is there ever any good news for Sydenham.?
I would add ignition brewery to the list of good news about Sydenham. Meet them in Bob last night, I'd not heard of it before... it's a not for profit enterprise that aims to produce a great product while providing much needed skilled employment for people with learning difficulties. I ...

This is sad news indeed. BR was one of the things that attracted us to Sydenham when we moved here. Sadly we don't have the spare cash to invest but good luck raising the funds, really hope you manage it.

Re: Kirkdale High Street Update!
I saw this weekend that a new sign has gone up for "Waffle Station" in the old IBS bakery unit. Looks like it will be a nice addition to Kirkdale. Website also seems to be up and running but couldn't see any opening date. Good luck to the new proprietors in launching. Hope they can make a go of it ...
