Re: Mamma Dough
We love Raf's but rarely have pizza there as his other dishes are soooo good. We went to Mamma Dough on a Sunday evening when there aren't so many places open. Really enjoyed the food and certainly didn't think it was over priced. Another very welcome addition to the fab range of local eateries.

Re: Albion Millennium Green
I am worried by the complete lack of empathy towards these homeless people. Should we not show a little more humanity towards those who have found themselves in dire straights?

Re: Begging outside Sainsbury's local
Let's hope that the people posting negative stuff about the homeless in our area never find themselves in the same position. If you don't want to give to the homeless then don't, but please don't expect me to demonstrate your lack of empathy with my fellow humans.

Re: Loud motorbike revving can be heard from Westwood Hill
I urge people to report these incidents. I called 101 on Wednesday evening and got through straight away. I know sometime it is not so easy but it is worth it. The more reports there the harder it is to ignore.

Re: Loud motorbike revving can be heard from Westwood Hill
I have just heard them again and have phoned 101. They have asked for police to attend and said others should report too to raise the profile of this issue. Fingers crossed

Re: Penge Homebase closed - now Bunnings warehouse
I went into Bunnings this morning and I had a plan b as I thought I might be able to get what I went in there for. I think it is a real improvement on the old Homebase. The staff were really helpful (and it felt genuine) and the range is great. A lot of it is towards the value end but they also ...

I have the quality of food from Himalayan Kitchen to be variable but the thing that is consistent is the incredibly slow service! Be prepared for a long wait and don't fall for the 30 mins they tell you it will take.

Re: Gulls are arriving
I may be in the minority but I would far rather hear birds, be they sparrows, gulls or parakeets going about their business than the sirens and quad bikes that often fill the air in sunny Sydders. We make a bit effort to put food out for the birds in our garden and are rewarded with visits from wood ...

Re: Lemon Tree
This will be interesting to watch. We used the Lemon Tree a far bit when it first opened and it was great. Sadly it went down hill quite quickly with all the dishes tasting similar and appearing in a lurid red, very disappointing! Fingers crossed for a brighter future.

Re: Cycling Weekend Road Closures
Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of pounds raised for charities! If this event is getting middle aged men (and women may I add) off their sofas and outside exercising then that is some legacy for the olympics. As for cycling endlessly round the mostly flat olympic park, I think the sign up ...

If you look really carefully at the hoarding it is not actually a Giraffe restaurant, just a sign in the style of.....so I think it is unlikely. WHat ever it is so long as it is open I am sure it will be a welcome addition.

A Star Cobbler
We have been using this guy for a while now and his work is always good but this week he has excelled himself. My favourite pair of boots were looking like they were beyond repair. I called in to ask if there was anything that could be done and to my joy the answer was yes. When I picked them up I ...

Re: New to area - GP surgery recommendations?
Welcome to sunny Sydenham. We have been in the area for nine years now and as London suburbs go I don't think there is anywhere better. I can recommend Sydenham Green Group practice. The GPs are very good and have looked after my partner and I very well. There is an app you can get for making ...

Building Regs Bromley council
We are planning on converting our garage into a study. Our neighbours have already done this so it should be straight forward. We are looking for someone hones and reliable just to draw up the necessary to get through building regs (it will be permitted development). Any recommendations?
