Re: Sydenham Walkabout (29-Oct-06)
I think the woodland is Dulwich Upper Wood: https://www.tcv.org.uk/london/urbanecology/urban-ecology-sites/dulwich-upper-wood/ Chestnut Place is on the site of a waterworks, see this map from 1952: https://maps.nls.uk/view/102905839 Presumably the mysterious green box relates to that, as it's right ...

Re: Did you vote?
Would someone like to explain? She's no longer my MP, but I thought she used to be rather good. I like her and think she's quite good and reasonably active for the area not just her own career. I've seen her at community events for example, and she's always been responsive to issues I've raised ...

Re: Local Train Services
I don`t find Ellie`s post very clear. What exactly does restoring "peak" services mean? Does this mean trains from East Croydon through Sydenham will be rush hour only and not throughout the day? That is what it means, yes. If we want them more regularly then further campaigning is needed, and it ...

It was the Barratts response I mostly heard about - glad to know the councillors are being critical. That gives me some hope!

Re: Tonight! Gasholder site planning meeting
What was your impression from the meeting? I couldn't go, although my OH did, and from what he told me it sounded a bit like all concerns were basically dismissed and they're probably going to carry on regardless.

Respondents to the planning application have just been invited to a meeting on the 26th about it, before it goes to the Council Strategic Planning Committee.

Thank you for the reminder - and also the pointer that we can email comments. The comment box on the planning site is very limited!

Re: Overground to London Bridge?
Agreed, my preference would definitely be the reinstatement of a 4 trains ph service, with two of those being the Caterham train. But as someone who commutes to London Bridge, I'll take what I can get at this stage.

Overground to London Bridge?
Apparently TfL are looking into how they could extend the Overground to London Bridge as Southern have no plans to reinstate our 4 trains an hour. That would be a "yes please" from me if it went ahead! Source: https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/tfl-considering-london-overground-extension-to-london ...

Does anyone know what's happened with this planning application? The original link in this thread says it's been removed, and the reference number doesn't give any results.

Re: Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending
double capacity for customers on the Sydenham to London Bridge section Aye, that doubled capacity will be why the 0826 this morning was full and standing by Forest Hill! Re: Diana Evans / Bell Green
There is one point where one of the characters can't get home from the West End because of a problem with the Jubilee line to connect to the Overground down to Sydenham. Why he didn't just go to Charing Cross for the train to Lower Sydenham, thus making sure he didn't let down his small child, was a ...

I know they're currently recruiting for staff, so I don't know how well-staffed they are at the moment or how long they'll take to answer questions!

Blackbird's Instagram says it will be the beginning of August with a small pop up for bread, coffee and pastry whilst they finish off the rest of the shop and a garden.
It looks like the Cake Shop has been let as well, although presumably to someone else. Anyone have an idea who it might be going to?
