At the Sydenham Forum last Saturday it was mentioned that the Ignition Brewery was now under new management. A group based in Downham i think. Anybody know the background to this change?

My understanding, based on information from the PO today, is that it will be closed for a day then will re-open with a commercial partner.

You can inhale the very visible plume of vapour and any unabsorbed nicotine, water vapour etc being exhaled. In my experience the smell is usually sweet and sickly and I would prefer to avoid it, particularly in a pub.

Emailed the Dolphin to query their policy. They do allow it provided it provided they judge it isn't bothering other customers.

Popped into the Dolphin tonight. Generally very nice apart from a couple puffing away on e cigarettes. Really spoiled the evening and felt like a step back into the bad old days when smoking was allowed in pubs.

Popped into Kente's today. it has been redecorated and generally refreshed and some good work has been done on improving the display of artwork and local notices plus it is now offering free wifi. It seems to be one of Sydenham's neglected coffee shops and is well worth a visit.
