Re: Kirkdale Costcutter
One of the builders told us that it was going to be an Italian/Albanian restaurant - odd fusion. I think he was yanking our chain.
We have since spoken to another builder who told us that it was to become three shops but nfda.

Re: The Moustache
We popped in for a coffee on Saturday evening before going off to a restaurant and wished we had stayed at The Moustache.
Great coffee, beautifully candle-lit and just really relaxing. Big thumbs up here.

No. Certainly not a drone
Re: Lasers?
Was at my daughters house in Mottingham Lane on ..... Wednesday or Thursday night. Suddenly what
appeared to be a flash of light lit up back room coming from garden. We wondered what it was and still
don't know. Interesting.

Re: water pressure
I've just been on to Thames Water twitter and I'm sure most people know by now that the nearest bottle station is in High Level Drive. Evidentally there are only five stations providing bottled water in the affected areas. The trays are so heavy to carry home and I pity the elderly. Can you imagine ...

Re: water pressure
Woke up just now in the hope that we might have water. Managed to fill two saucepans of water from the slow dribble coming out of tap - just enough to flush the toilet (oh my god. the toilet!!!!) Now no dribble at all and so we will be making another trip to High Level Drive to replenish the water ...

Re: water pressure
Still no water in Kirkdale, the Sydenham Hill end anyway. There is a water "station" in High Level Drive
where we were given trays of bottled water but then had to carry them back to Kirkdale - quite heavy but
much needed. No idea when our water will be on again.

I think I am right in saying that this shop has been boarded up for more than a decade.

Boarded up shop near Costcutters
I'm sure this shop has had a mention before but if so Ive missed it. The boarded up shop on the corner a couple of doors down from Costcutters has been empty for literally years and I often wonder why. I think Im right in saying the last time it was in use was as a Thai restaurant. It is an eyesore ...

Re: Litter on the streets of Sydenham
As far as fly tipping goes Lewisham Council will take away large household items like sofas etc for I believe five pounds per item. A few years ago we wanted to get rid of my mothers old sofa and went online to Bromley Council website and were shocked at how much they wanted to come and take it away ...

Re: Food and drink venues in Sydenham
I agree. Never eaten in the restaurant but have ordered food from them. Really tasty and fresh.
Good menu and I think by far the best food in Sydenham.

Re: Westwood House Care Home
Have you thought of extra care housing? My mother who sadly passed away last July was in extra care housing at Regency Court, Bromley. She had her own flat with all her own furniture It was very spacious. There is 24 hour care there so that she was looked after from the moment she woke up with ...

Police at Sydenham Hill
Does anyone know why the police attended yesterday opposite Castlebar in their droves?
The helicopter was out and police searching in woods and ? attending house nearby.
Just being nosey really but we do use the woods every day to take the dog on a walk

Photos of Kirkdale
Can anyone tell me where I might buy old photos of Kirkdale lets say pre 1950? I have
found two, one of the top of Kirkdale where it junctions with Sydenham Hill and one where
it junctions with Dartmouth Rd, but it is the in-between these two junctions that I am
interested in.

Alright Parker1970 - now give us an image of three labradors sitting outside a cafe in Montmartre but one really does not want to be there because he hasnt the euros to cover his share of the bill and should he say hes lost his wallet or pretend to collapse with illness - go on - do it, it is ...
