Re: Moving to Sydenham/Please help with advice
Hi. I don't know whether you've tried this but you can search the Met police website for recent crimes in a particular area. ADT picks up the same info on their site and it's easier to use, just search for 'crime in my area' or something like that.

Re: Police crack down on e-scooters
The problem here is that the police will get it in the neck whatever they do. When they run crackdowns on drivers with no insurance for example (and cars are confiscated and crushed for such an offence), people will cry out for action on e-scooters. And vice versa.

Yes you weren’t dreaming. It was ridiculous but those of us living off Westwood will be used to it being used as a racetrack.

Labour won. Regardless of who you vote for, I do find it awful that Lewisham has no opposition. Roll on proportional representation

Re: 5G Nimby-ism?
There is a lot of nonsense spouted about 5G masts - the fact that they will emit killer radiation for a start. And I agree that the design of them is pretty awful and further thought needs to be given to how they look. They should also not obstruct pavements.
However, if we want 5G (and people will ...

Re: Confused over Council Planning letter
This was the jargon used when Lewisham consulted on a similar mast near us last year. Locals were consulted and the council rejected the plan. So unsure what would’ve changed to make it just a notification under this regulation.

It might be worth reporting to Safer Sydenham team. There is an option for anti-social behaviour

Re: Proliferation of graffiti on Sydenham Road
No harm in trying Fix my Street.
I suppose the graffiti can join the phenomenal amount of fly tipping in making Sydenham resemble a glorified dump these days.
Oh and on my run this evening I passed a van driver chucking all his rubbish on to the street...

Your local pharmacy will give free flu jabs if you’re eligible and paid ones for those who aren’t. Will save a lot of aggro on phones.

Re: a 60 foot (5G?) mast is coming to Newlands Park
Lewisham rejected one on Wells Park Road.
However, isn’t this generally a case of people shifting an issue from one doorstep to another? Most will want 5G but not the infrastructure that goes with it, which is not a workable situation. I cannot believe that Hutchison will be going to the expense ...

Both these businesses deserve support.
