Re: Park Court Rubbish - Knighton Park Rd
I've reported this again - I don't know if it is fly tipping or just tenants that seem to have an un-ending amount of rubbish, but it's relentless.
I also got hold of the management company and suggested they sort out the arrangements or educate the tenants on the rubbish vibe, as the rest of the ...

Re: More senseless death
Yeah, all very sad but equally strange that the poor lad was apparently chased by a group of boys because of his disabilities, but then a 36 YO women got involved. Confusing reporting.

Re: Lewisham approves keeping Bridge Leisure Centre closed
Managed into the ground and now residents suffer the consequences.
I used to take my first born there for swimming lessons. Brilliant teacher left because of the mismanagement. They wouldn't run a class if they didn't have 3 kids, so you'd end up arriving to find out you just had to walk home ...

Re: Lewisham approves keeping Bridge Leisure Centre closed
That’s a shame. Despite it being in dire need for a renovation it’s convenient for a large community and both of my kids have learned to swim there.
But seems like they’ve run the numbers and a 600k loss is not to be sniffed at especially as the council are pretty strapped as it is.

Interestingly enough, I see very little difference between the high st when it was tier 3 and now in tier 4. Same number of people on the high st and seemingly the same shops etc open.
Not sure I get it tbh

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
I take it you’re being sarcastic and if so I totally agree.
I’m all for getting people walking and cycling etc, but I counted 44 idling cars waiting for the lights on Mayow Rd this evening as I walked up...I’ve got a funny feeling that the pollution built up there alone makes a mockery of the idea ...

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Really? Wow.
I mean I’ve been stuck coming down there before, but never nearly for so long.
I was there the other night on a Thursday having dropped one of my kids in Dulwich and had the same issue. Not quite as long, but a pretty tedious journey.
Wasn’t aware it was isolated to Fridays or that it ...

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
This may have come up in another post somewhere, but I was driving home from other side of town on Friday, and it took me 47mins to get from the top of Westwood Hill to the bottom of the high st. Extraordinary.

Re: Flu-Jabs @ Sydenham Green now Covid test compatible
Sydenham Green is a total abomination frankly. It’s always been like that. Ring up in the morning for an appointment, stay on hold, get met with a terse tone from receptionist saying no appointments. We’ve been registered with it for about 12 years, and it’s always been dreadful.

Re: Barclays closing in October
I'm annoyed by this, but mainly because I never wanted to be a Barclays customer in the first place. I was a member of the Woolwich, which had the branch until demutualisation 1997. Barclays said at the time that they bought the Woolwich for its brilliant customer service, then promptly closed on ...

Very surprised they haven't made any comments about this, for or against, unless I've missed something?

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
So the suggestion is that Cllr Best has lobbied for this?
Or do other cllrs live there too?
Seems the location of Cllr Best’s house would be irrelevant given she lives on the periphery by Mayow, and in fact detrimental.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Changes such as this were urged on councils by TFL as an emergency measure as part of the Covid-19 crisis response - see the original post for more information. There was no time for any consultation. There will be time later on, and we'll have the chance to give our views then.
