Re: RIP
It would be a real shame if this forum died off. The replacements - e.g. NextDoor and facebook are nowhere near as good. Nextdoor in particular is totally useless. Slow, terrible search, over moderated. Awful.

Re: Virgin Broadband
Only one thing that Virgin will understand - move to a more reliable supplier.
Try community fibre - £100 amazon voucher for you and same for me.

Been with them since January this year and they just work.

Re: Virgin Broadband
I used to be on Virgin - for years. Expensive and unreliable with diabolical customer service to boot.
I've recently moved to community fibre and I like it.
I got three months free and then it was still cheaper and faster than Virgin.

It doesn't mention Crystal Palace parkrun specifically, but it does say that only 3 out of 56 events have permission to resume.

Crystal Palace Parkrun
Does anyone know what is happening with this?
I saw this story in the Guardian today. I hope Bromley have given it permission to return. It would seem hypocritical to ban park run from Crystal Palace Park when they have the Wireless festival and South Facing concert series.

Surprisingly high turnout (45%) given that it was a foregone conclusion.

Does anyone know if the under 50s are being vaccinated yet by Sydenham Green? It seems to be a bit hit and miss across London at the moment.

Re: New homes for Sydenham Hill Estate?
110 homes in that space is a lot. That could be an extra ~300 people. I think I would prefer a lower density of homes as we don't have the infrastructure (especially GP places) for even more people.

Re: Thinking about moving to the area
I too am on Collingtree. Nice quiet road but still close to station, a useful small Sainsburys, a PureGym and a nice pub (the Greyhound). You are well situated for parks too, with Wells park and Mayow park close by.

The weekend of the 5th/6th September. I would be quite surprised if it went ahead.

Re: Outrageous Acorn Estate Agents
If anyone did that with my house, I'd inform them that I am happy to accept advertising on my property for a fee of £100 per week and then send them an invoice for the first three months! That should get them to shift it quickly!

We do have the hospice. That might give us a larger number of very vulnerable and frail people.

Virgin broadband down in Lewisham
Anyone else on Virgin Broadband? It seems to have been dead for me for a couple of days now.
I called support and they told me it is a planned upgrade and that it might be Thursday before it gets sorted out!

There was a 'squatters rights' legal notice there on NYE, but gone today.
I don't know if they are still there or not.

The change into Jubilee line at rush hour. It is mad that only one escalator is in use for going down.

On for 50k plus VAT and rates. That is a lot considering how work will need to be put into it. However the greyhound is always busy so clearly there is demand.

Today's Google doodle
Today's Google doodle honours Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of St Christopher's hospice. I learned a few things I didn't know about her from the Wikipedia entry. Very inspirational.
