I drove through it tonight. The obvious flaw is that the crossing is placed at the apex of a hill so drivers' lights are dazzling each other. It's very difficult to see anything.

Re: Halloween in Sydenham 4pm Monday 31 October
My kids went to this and had a wonderful time. It's great to see something so positive happening on the high street. A big thank you to all involved.

Re: East West to become ANOTHER 'Cheque Shop'
I can't wait for the next council elections. Clearly our current batch don't seem to listen or even apply common sense.

Re: Shop between Barclays and Superdrug?
Chris Best recently commented on another thread was that we need to shop local. I made the accusation that the high street problem was one of governance. I really hope another pawn shop or something similar isn't opening. If it is please comment Chris. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham ...

Re: Social Housing
My comment wasn't aimed at people on benefits. Just anti social people similar to those described by Mike. If they can't behave in a civilized manner towards society then they shouldn't expect to reap the benefits of living in it. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk/mobile.png

Re: Social Housing
I agree with Eagle on this one. Some people think they can behave any way they like because there seem to be few if any consequences. Anti social behaviour should be treated extremely seriously. Unfortunately treating anti social people as some kind of victims of society is a viewpoint I can't begin ...

Re: New convenience store near Syd Station
Chris, the problem is much bigger than that. Unmuzzled dangerous dogs off leads, drinking, anti social behaviour. It's not somewhere I'm happy to go shopping with my kids. Until those kinds of issues are addressed the problems with the high street will continue. I stick with the view that it's ...

Re: New convenience store near Syd Station
What I find incredible is that I have been living here for over 10 years and have been reading the forum for almost as long and am simply astonished at the fact that the debate is so depressingly unchanging. The high street is grotty. I'm over that so tend to go elsewhere. What gets me is that the ...

Re: Vicious Dog Attack Sydenham Road
Let's try and keep some perspective here. I didn't like going to the high street when the tattooed man was without a dog because he and his cronies were up there drinking. The trophy dangerous dog is just an extension of this kind of behavior. Muzzling the family pooch is not what is required. We ...

Re: Vicious Dog Attack Sydenham Road
It's a real shame folks. I have lived here for 10 years and have watched this and similar subjects being discussed on the forum but nothing improves. I simply avoid bringing my young kids to the high street if I can avoid it. It's immensely frustrating. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http ...

Re: Vicious Dog Attack Sydenham Road
I really can't understand the point of having a controlled alcohol zone when it isn't enforced. I find that tattooed guy and his cronies (not to mention the dog) intimidating. Anyone know why it isn't enforced?

Wow! 177 posts on this thread to date - I might as well wade in :) I brought the over-crowding up at the Meet the Managers session at London Bridge and judging by the reaction I got I wasn't the first person to bring it up. It's a completely absurd situation and well done all of you who have been ...

I agree!
I couldn't agree more. I absolutely hate people banging on about problems but then refuse to contact their councillor/MP about it because they think "what's the point"!!! These people work for you. If you contact MPs or councillors using the following site you tend to get a speedy response. Whether ...

Easy way to report problems to the council
Hi I thought the forum might be interested in this new website which provides an easy way of reporting issues to your local council. Because you can search by postcode it shows all of the other problems people are reporting in your locality. Incidentally, I came across this on the BBC news website ...
