Thats great news! I hope Mayow gets it! Has anyone been to Peckham Rye Park recently? They have a great cafe now and a lovely variety of spaces to enjoy. I know Mayow is a lot smaller but it could do with some improvenments - not least the children's play area. And a nice cafe would be great ...

Looking for a childminder

I'm looking for a childminder for a couple of mornings a week. I wonder if anyone out there knows any registered childminders who may have the space for an 18 month old? I'd prefer it be somewhere within walking distance (we live on Girton Road). Cheers!
PS Does anyone know what the going rates are?

We've just had a beautiful double glazed sash made by a local company called Atamer Carpentry - 0208 653 8090. Very high standard of workmanship and a pleasure to deal with.

Unfortunately on this occasion it was the willful destruction of 'innocent' cars - as I understand it. A neighbour told me that the owners of both vehicles live on the street... not great news for us residents of Girton Road, or anyone in SE26 in fact. Sorry to be so gloomy.

Here here Nasaroc. I really like the atmosphere in the BMC. Whatsmore I think they've done a grand job with the decor... with or without Lawrence LB. Considering there will never be glorious sunlight streaming through because of their north facing orientation, they've managed to introduce brightness ...

I know the pain of losing a cat. Have you put up posters? When I lived in Brixton my cat jumped from a 2nd floor balcony and I thought I had lost her forever. But a whole 3 months later, after weeks of going round Brockwell park shaking packets of cat biscuits and getting weird looks, I got a call ...

We went to the exhibition on Tuesday, and very impressed we were too. The plans are great, and already the area outside Crystal Palace station is a million times better without the ghastly concrete bridge. Well done Latz...Roll on the changes. Also very interesting is the old booking hall. What a ...

Yes Zucker is being reinvented. I stuck my nose in last week when there were people painting. They've remodelled the space somewhat so it is larger, and the guy I spoke to assures me that they are going to get a decent coffee machine! I don't know what kind of fare will be on offer, but I referred ...

Trewsbury Road Allotments are great!!! We have a lovely small friendly site with a great sense of community. A toilet is planned and a new clubhouse has been applied for. Not sure about availability of plots but if you pm me I can find out for you. There is a much larger site down near Lower ...

Last night on passing through E Dulwich we noticed that the East Dulwich Tavern was rammed inside and out. And to then arrive back in Sydenham to the closed Greyhound seemed very sad. It seems to me that the Greyhound is very similar in size and situation (on the roundabout), albeit here and not ...

well... where to start... deli goods - good organic bread (especially sour dough), focaccia, yummy fruit tarts, chorizo, parma ham, fresh pesto, lots of wonderful cheeses - many from the UK, decent olives.... that sort of thing. Good luck and keep us posted.

Go for it Wiola! I think your model sounds great and the more decent eateries we have in Sydenham the better. I think your quiche, salad and wine lunch sounds like good value and a pleasant alternative to everything else in sydenham. Just make sure you find a buggy friendly venue and you will be ...

I'm quite pleased about the arrival of the garden waste bins as it was always a struggle to get rid of that stuff before... there's only so much I can take to the allotment to compost. It'll be especially useful in autumn for fallen leaves and cutting back woody stems that don't go in the household ...

It's a great thought! I'd come and use it for sure... especially in the summer months. You only have to venture into the caf in Dulwich Park to see the potential. Mind you they have rather a lot of cash round those parts, they even have posh ducks in the ponds... by that I mean more variety!

Go for it CoffeeKing! There's a real need for something like that round here, especially now that I hear sweet little Zucker is closing... The only problem with Zucker was the size; so many people said they'd go in but find nowhere to sit. So if you can get into a larger space you'll have a full ...
