You should report the incident to the Police.
Totally agree accept I couldn't take the number plate as he obscured it as he continue to verbally abused me. As Eagle says. No witnesses. If the bloke want to he could have decked me.

Last night 25th Nov 2013 around 7pm on Lawrie Park Road, at the Crystal Palace Park End, I did my Green Cross Code bit - checked both ways that it was safe to cross the road, when I got 2-3 seconds into the road to hear screeching tires, hear someone toot their horn at me aggressively.
