Re: Stolen heritage items from Crystal Place Park
In summary, witnesses alerted CCP managers (ID verde) that local resident Dr Conal Austin and a family member were seen loading a vehicle with numerous large metal items taken from the upper ruins in Crystal Palace Park. The vehicle registration was taken and passed on to the Police by the park ...

Re: Stolen heritage items from Crystal Place Park
After watching 24 hours in police custody last night about the doctor and the fraudulent insurance claim I was reminded to update this thread.

Stolen heritage items from Crystal Place Park
A number of heavy decorative metal castings, which were recently removed from Crystal Palace Park, may have been dumped locally. The panels are rectangular, approximately 5 foot by 1 foot and have a design of joined circles which run the length of the panels. If anyone has stumbled across these in ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
Just a reminder that that date for submitting any comments on this new planning proposal for 46 dwellings is Tuesday 16th December. There is concern that although there are fewer dwellings overall, all the new buildings and the blocks in particular (in Lawrie Park Crescent and CP Park Road) will be ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
A quick update. The Salvation Army and their partners Kitewood have logged an appeal against the refusal of this development. This is registered on the Bromley planning website and the Planning Inspectorate website dated 11th November. In addition, a new planning application has been submitted to ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
Thank you Stuart for your reply. All valid concerns but unfortunately only planning concerns may be voiced in any objection. All those following this should know that the final dates for comments to the council have been changed. Due to signage not being placed correctly around the site boundary ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
Here is a brief summary from what I have read. Application submitted to Bromley Council includes; 110 residential units, at almost the highest density the London Plan allows. The Rookstone building will be replaced with a 3 storey block of flats while the main private development sits behind with a ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
I will try to get some details up when I have some more time. One of the problems with a development of this scale is that the application submitted differs somewhat from the original proposal. The detail supplied is overwhelming and most people would be happy with a basic model which they could use ...

The link to the Bromley Planning Portal is below; https://searchapplications.bromley.gov.uk/onlineapplications/ If you enter SE26 6HG you will be presented with about 60 pages of documents relating to this proposal. Most of this information is completely new to those directly involved so it may take ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
The planning aplication has now been submitted by Kitewood and it will be available to view on the Bromley planning webpage in the next few days. I will try to get a link up unless someone beats me to it. It will be interesting to see what the developer has done to the plans since they were first ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
Hi Annie, Yes,it is very confusing. There is no key provided for the colours on the plan. All I can add is that the Rookstone building will be demolished and a three storey block put on its footprint. The Haven site will be completely developed with two integrated blocks and an avenue in between The ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
Please remember, this was a fully staffed care home for the elderly and a children's care home up until approximately a year ago... It is disappointing that there is no value placed on these type of services. The Salvation Army is letting this site degrade to the extent that any development will be ...

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
Hello. The 'Community Infrastructure Levy' is a tax applied to developments by the borough council. This is a 'pot' of money used for infrastructure development wherever the council sees fit. There is no obligation to use the money around the development site.

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
It is hard to say about the utilities. The developers must have done the research as part of the planning process. It is dealt with by the 'Community Infrastructure Levy', a tax applied to the development, according to councillor Papworth. It carries no weight in a planning application. The car ...
