Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
Does anyone know what the implications of the tap-room would be for the existing yoga and dance classes that run at the Sydenham Centre? It would be a shame if a multi-purpose community space was lost in the heart of Sydenham, much as l love the concept... The implications are not yet known. In ...

Such bad timing for the Calabash of Culture to close when it did. I suspect they'd have been a a beneficiary of new passing trade.Growsydenham wrote:The big winner in my view could be all the local cafes, benefiting as people coming to the high st to do classes

Re: New yoga studio?
It's good for Sydenham that there shall be TWO yoga/Pilates studios. I welcome it. I can't think of any other place in London that has two studios quite so close to each other though. I suspect it is possible that they didn't know of each other in the business planning stage. Let's hope there's room ...

Re: New yoga studio?
Obviously I have some mixed feelings about this. Along with 3 or 4 over locally based independent teachers teaching at The Sydenham Centre this could potentially be quite a threat to our livelihoods and what Lewisham Council are trying to achieve in the downstairs part of the Sydenham Centre with ...

Re: Parliamentary Election Hustings - 24th April
I was really looking forward to attending this event and am very disappointed it was cancelled. Perhaps Jim Dowd might care to confirm or deny whether it was he who refused to participate in the hustings and care to explain his reasoning if he did indeed refuse to participate. As others have ...

Builder for Flat Conversion: Recommendations?
Hi all,
I would like to convert my one bedroom flat into a two bedroom flat and have already had the initial plans drawn up by an architect.
Might anyone be able to recommend some reputable builders who could carry out the conversion?
Adam

Re: Sydenham Road traffic
Good advice. I have 'took the lane' i.e cycled in the centre of the road, ever since. There simply isn't enough space for a cycle and for a car to overtake giving sufficient room otherwise.

Re: Traffic in the High Road
Speaking as a pedestrian, I think the sets of lights are a VAST improvement to what was there before, which was pretty unfriendly to bipeds.

Re: Sydenham Road traffic
Overall, I LOVE the improvements to our High Street, but having now cycled down from Kirkdale to Silverdale and back again quite a few times I have quickly come to the conclusion that the narrowing of the road over the bridge is not good at all for those on two wheels. In fact I think it could be ...

Pilates, Garuda Matwork & Yoga Nidra workshop: Sun Oct 20th
I am a Sydenham based Pilates & Yoga teacher. This Sunday I will be running two workshops, just down the road in Forest Hill, with my friend and fantastic movement practitioner, Marta Soteras. They can be booked separately or together if you might fancy making a day of it. I hope you might join us ...
