In the interests of fairness, I should add that I went for a roast at The Golden Lion a couple of weeks back. If was rubbish and came half cold.

Basically Sydenham pubs seem to be going for Dulwich prices, but not coming up with the goods.

For me, there is a lack of a quality venue showing the sports (Bt and Sky) Bricklayers Arms on Dartmouth Road is a solid Sydenham boozer and fantastic for sport. So, which one of you has been putting slips of paper through letter boxes urging people to oppose this?

The slip in question came across very NIMBY, and whoever wrote it didn't have the manners to sign it.

Can anyone recommend a decent roast in or around Sydenham? Tried The Dolphin, and frankly, it was a big let down.

The wholesale price of a pint, even with taxes, can't be much more than £1.50: Wetherspoons are currently doing £1.79 for a pint of real ale as a promotion, Sam Smith's pubs up in central London still sell for under £2 a pint. I was also there Thursday night, and it was great! If you can get there tonight or tomorrow, I'd really recommend it!
