Re: Sydenham High St Stabbing
Holy smoke: From http://m.newsshopper.co.uk/news/14129426.display/ "Mr Murray, who was known as 'erbs', had been convicted of multiple robberies, many of which involved stealing mobile phones from children, as well as drug offences, the court heard. At the time of his death he was on police bail for ...

Re: 12th Dec Sydenham Christmas Extravaganza!
Just dropped in to the pop up shop next to the health food shop on the high street, some very nice and unique presents especially the handmade soaps. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Go support.
Re: Mopeds
Last night a quad bike sped through a red light in the dark at speed at that junction of the high road with Newlands Park. One of these days there will be a serious incident.

Re: Mopeds
I agree with everyone and have also witnessed them speeding through red lights on the high street (by that junction with Newlands Park that has a pedestrian dual system too). All the police have to do is sit in unmarked cars and observe and it should be easy pickings to place warrants , shouldn't it ...

Re: Another violent incident on Sydenham high street
Lewisham Police Twitter account posted this 5 hours ago: #ResponseTeamC are currently dealing in Sydenham Road, SE26 - For information, this IS NOT related to last week's incident #SgtTaylor .... I was told it was a shopkeeper next to Billings who had a phone stolen but then was set upon and it all ...

Re: Sydenham High St Stabbing
The dignified service has been replaced by booming noise from cars and young men smoking spliff whilst the police watch from the pavement. I feel for the family when people disrespect a prayer event. Deep joy for the local residents.....

Re: Sydenham High St Stabbing
I just went past the site, seemed very dignified. It must be so difficult for the family. I spoke to a policeman who said that the guy charged with murder was known to Nathan. Does anyone know when the funeral is due to take place?

The Girton/Tannsfeld street party has been cancelled as a mark of respect to the Murray family.

Re: Sydenham High St Stabbing
No updates from news outlets, so assuming this chap is still alive. Life seems so cheap with this thuggish behaviour. Presumably there were lots of witnesses to the attack and the aftermath of it, at such a time on the high street outside a supermarket. A sign of the times that such an incredible ...

Re: Traffic in the High Road
Interesting Coll but marking territory as a way of reacting against low status and a feeling of lack of power is, in my opinion, more appropriate to explain the attempts to reintegrate a former outcasted section of the population (slaves) into mainstream citizenship, as in the case of the USA- and ...

Re: House prices
A 4br house in Girton Road, I am reliably informed, that was advertised for offers in excess of £500k by the Property World merchants on the high street, has been sold for £585k, and took one day to sell. The usual bubble mentality was involved, open day arranged by agents to create panic as couples ...
